Reflexology
Home > Reflexology
Reflexology is a combination of foot massage accompanied by applying pressure to certain points of the feet and hands to treat particular complaints, to de-stress, relax, detox and balance the bodies systems.
This idea of reflexology rests on the ancient Chinese belief in qi (pronounced “chee”), or “vital force/energy.” In times of emotional or physical stress or trauma your body can block the flow of qi. This in turn can influence an imbalance in bodily systems, over time this can lead to both acute and chronic symptoms. Reflexology aims to keep qi flowing through the body, and to address symptoms where qi is stuck. Based on the theory that your body is mapped out in miniature on your foot, and by applying pressure to certain points on the foot you will simultaneously be treating the part of the body or organ the point is connected to or associated with.

Reflexology can be used as a one-off relaxation treatment, or to try and ease presenting symptoms. One-off treatments can help, but a series of treatments are recommended if you wish to help a long term or chronic issue.
